Last time I was working my Dexta I noticed the lower hose was getting rubbed by the belt and it had sprung a leak when hot. Doesn't look like there is a lot of room. Does yours look this close?

Yes, that is right. Mine looks tight too.
There is supposed to be a slight bend in the hose, towards the timing cover.
That will keep the hose away from the belt.
But i agree it is kind of tight in there.
You might consider releasing the hoseclamp at the waterpump and twisting the hose sideways a little bit, then retightening.
Regards, Rob.

If you're replacing the leaking hose, be no harm to put a couple of jubilee clips around the lower radiator hose where the belt meets the hose, should offer better protection than just relying on the correct placement of the hose.

IMHO would it not be better to just replace the hose with an original Dexta one? If I recall the original hose does tapper down on one end can't remember which though. When I bought my ASP(All Spare Parts) Dexta it had a Ferguson water pump fitted and a butchered hose fitted as the Ferguson pump is slightly different. :scratchhead: :scratchhead:

I replaced my old collapsing hoses at once with a kit of proper ones - plenty of clearance.

Thanks guys.. I ended up ordering a new lower hose and I have about a 1/4 inch of clearance now.

Thanks for all the help.
