Fitting the Dexta block to an engine stand.

Does or has any member ventured to mount the Dexta block to a 500kg engine stand? My attempt yesterday failed me when I tried fixing the adaptor plate to the stand the holes just did not reach 
I have not tried securing the engine to the stand using the 3/8th inch bolt holes in the block.
