Cracked head?

Hi all,
Haven't been here for a while! My problem on my 60 Dexta Diesel is this...
No leaks anywhere outside, and recently repaired radiator. It goes thru a lot of water, but no water in oil. It doesn't have problems running, and has instant start up.
I am wondering if this points towards a cracked head. I am needing some advice!
Thanks in advance...Joshua

Welcome back Josh,
You could try this,
Remove termostat and check it with boiling water ,
If it opens as it should now drill a tiny by-pass hole (About 2.5mm) in the the thermostat plate next to the valve opening.
This will prevent air stemming from minute leaks in the head from building up under the thermostat during warm-up and thus ejeckting water via the overflow hose.
If in doubt fit a new thermostat at the same time.
I cured a similar issue on a major this way.

should the problem persist, then you should double check the radiator for clear internal passages, the condition of the waterpump and the coolant operating tempeature of the engine(correct thermostat).Give the engine block cooling system a flushing as well.
If all this fails then you are looking at head-job if you want a complet cure!
In my opinion!

incedently, cracked head and such is "worst case"- blown head gasket being more likley!
