hi quick question
has any one used a parmiter post knocker on back of a dexta
it is heavy and once picked up on 3 pont link the tractors leans to the right a little, problem is i have only got the waight to go up once and and back down now it will not move all that happens is the rope gose tight

is this just to big for the dexta or i am thinking that my tractor hydraulics need attention
any help would be great

Is it PTO/cable driven or oil/ram driven - if the latter, do you have enough oil in your reservoir?

hi
it is oil ram
the oil is up to the level plug on side so unless i need to add more to make it work it is at the correct level

I guess you are plugged into the auxiliary services feed, the auxiliary service control is pulled out to allow flow, you are likely to be using the 'qualitrol' position on the selector lever.

I don't know how much oil your post driver rams suck up but the oil will come from the tractor reservoir which is normally sufficient for an implement. If there are multiple rams for lifting the weight, tilt adjustment etc this could need extra. Some modern oil driven implements demand high flows of oil through a continuous system with an outlet and an inlet which the Dexta don't got. Any photos of your setup/implement?

Do your lift arms work as they should?

I will add the troubleshooting from the workshop manual too, hope this helps!

Those instructions appear to relate to the linkage.
Your best course of action would be to beg or borrow a suitable pressure gauge to test the pressure of the external supply. We can only guess.

thank you both
its a single ram that just lifts the weight
(I guess you are plugged into the auxiliary services feed, the auxiliary service control is pulled out to allow flow, you are likely to be using the 'qualitrol' position on the selector lever.) yes this is correct

i will try to add photos they are not of my knocker but its the same type in photo as mine ( ok could not work out how to add photo)

It should work, it is only a small ram so shouldn't need much oil, local fencing contractor here used one on a small David Brown tractor with no problems. It was surprising how big a post he could drive in, railway sleeper etc.

Just a thought - is the pulley at the top ok, not seized? Plenty oil/grease (I think he used old engine oil) where the weight slides?
