Oil feed to dexta head

Post by landowner »

Put the head back on the dexta and there doesn't seem to be enough oil pressure to oil the valves, got oil running down the groove in the rocker to the push rod end but not to the valves when it's ticking over. got a little when revving but not enough.
I have oil pumping when the pipe is off, the oilways seem clean enough and there is a reasonable oil pressure.

I don't think they need a huge amount of oil. If there was too much then the stems could be swamped and the oil would find its way down the stem to the valve face and it may cause excess oil consumption or sooting up of the exhaust valve.
