My Super Dexta is a 1964 model with the hydraulic auxiliary chest shown in the picture below. I have a substantial oil leak from the areas circled in red in the picture below.
There appears in the picture to be an oring behind the retainer. I have removed the roll pin, but I don't see a way to get the retainer out.
Does anyone here have any suggestions on how to proceed?
Terry
I only one replaced 1 o-ring because it was blown out. maybe you can put some air pressure on it from the inside to get it out?
there are aftermarket kits available with the o-rings and new retainers.

The one of the flow control should come out easily, since there's a spring behind it. Just drive out the pin.
Do you have the unit on the bench? Can you fiddle the remaining plugs out with a small screw driver?

Thanks for the replies Mathias. Yes, the unit is on a work bench and the roll pin has been removed. I tried blowing the retainer out with air pressure, that didn't work. Do you know what ports are necessary for the lift to work? In other words what holes can I block and still have a working lift. I don't need auxiliary ports.
I will probably just buy a new gasket and put it back together, I have weeds that need to be cut!
sent for the cavalry! mate who is a fitter, thinks after getting the unit off, could be the gasket so ordered one along with a new seal kit,we will try this first
Success! Maybe. I got the retainer out, the key I believe is to allow penetrating oil to soak in for a week or more. Then, there is a small hole, approximately 1/8 inch in diameter in the center of the retainer. I used a wood screw forced into the hole. This pushed the retainer further into the bore. But I was able to work the retainer back and forth until I got it out.
The old O-ring was brittle and flat, it broke apart when I removed it. I put a new O-ring on and made a new gasket. Installed the chest on the tractor and lifted a bush hog a few times. Didn't see any leaks. Once I have used the tractor I will know for sure but at this point things look good. [/img]
