Hi,

I recently inherited a Fordson Dextra tractor and I am unfortunately a real newbie with tractors. Concerning the hydraulic hose from the carriage that is connected to the tractor. When I remove the hose, hydraulic hose starts dripping out (From the connector on the tractor). Can this be prevented or is it ok?

Hi Viktor,
A pic would help. If you're talking about the external service pipe connection above the top cover

it shouldn't leak badly, but it might ouse out a bit as the pipe is full of oil. A plug should be fitted if you remove this to prevent oil loss and dirt entry; it's 1/2" BSP I think. If its at the other end of this pipe it shouldn't leak but oil will be lost when disconnecting an implement, the valve at the end of the pipe might not be seating properly.

Pic is of a Major but the end is similar in principal in any tractor.
