Post by Scoobynorm »

Im restoring a 1960 fordson dexta

Theres a lever on injector pump at the back between the pump itself and the engine.

Hello
I think what you are describing is the speed control, i.e. throttle, try opening and closing the throttle under the steering wheel, and see if it moves.

Hi,

A1960 dexta should have a vacuum governor and no direct connection between throttle and pump.

Isn’t it the bracket where the outer tube of the stop cable is clamped to?
Best regards

It sounds like the stop lever, although that only applies to pneumatic governors. That is what was used from 1957 to May 1962, when the minimec was fitted. If you have a minimec (Not original for a 1960 Dexta) that will be the throttle lever, the stop lever being on the outside.
minimec pic (sorry, don't have a pic of the other pump)

Hi,

I think you are probably talking about the stop lever, it should have the pull to stop cable attached.

That's the stop lever, attach the stop cable to it. Pulling it back will stop the engine.

You have a pneumatic governor.
Be careful with repro pipes, we got one that we haven't fitted yet that is bent some 2" further back than it should be.
