1959 Broken lift arm control valve

Post by BabyDuke »

I hope someone can help me. I live in the US and have a '59 model Dexta. I have a broken control valve part # 957E-488-B blue, Cannot locate this particular part. I have found, in the Stevens tractor catalog, a control valve that replaces part #C7nn488H/J blue. Both have a diameter range of .5919/21, and my valve's diameter is .5920. Are these two parts compatible? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi Gordon,
It looks like these parts might be compatible, but I'm not sure; here's the parts book.

page 39 part 82 in the diagram is the control valve.

Thank you Sandy for your reply. These are the 2 parts I was asking about. I'm just not sure if the 957E and the C7NN are representative of 2 different tractor models, and therefore different valves. The catalog I was looking at show the control valves inside the bushing that goes with it, and not the actual valve itself. I guess I could take a chance, but the valve cost $80.00. OH well, it's only money. But again, thank you for taking the time to respond.

Dexta is 957E, Super Dexta is 960E; C7NN is something else, but I don't know what.

I have been doing research on the C7NN part numbers. It appears that they are Ford parts. Not sure if they are interchangeable as of yet.

Baby Duke,
Have you tried the New Holland web site? There are many Dexta parts still available there.
