Hand brake malfunction

Post by AlexB »

Morning all
Handbrake on my super Dexta isn't staying on

It seemed fine when I had the mudguards on, but now I have swapped to the cab ( I can't remember the make, but it has canvas roof and doors ) it won't stay on

Is there a different model mechanism for the cab or might it be knackered and replacement needed - if so, which bit or do I need ratchet, rod, spring, pawl and all ?

Many thanks in advance

I had a similar problem when I fitted a new handbrake to my Dexta. It took a few attempts to get the angle of the toothed bracket correct so that the pawl didn't slip. I had to make the holes in the mudguard oval to get the correct adjustment. You may have the same issue if it was working ok before you changed to the cab.
