Oil leak

Post by Wee59dexta »

Hi Everyone,

I used the Dexta for a bit of light work last weekend and after 1 week sitting this is the oil leak. The rope seal was replaced before winter 2020 by a friend of my Father's and the tractor stayed with my Father during the winter months. Haven't just brought her to her new home I think I've discovered that the "fix" was a failure. Could it be wrong grade of oil etc? It's disappointing to know the tractor was split etc and the rope seal replaced as a preventative measure. To be honest it never leaked before. My father with the best of intentions just took a notion it ought to be done. He wanted to check the condition of the clutch etc aswell before it moved to me.

Any comments or advice as always very much appreciated. It is quite a leak

Was the seal fitted soaked in oil for at least half an hour and left 1/8" proud? If not that is your problem, and you'll need to get in there with another seal.
