Has anyone found out exactly how fast a Fordson Super Dexta will go in H3? Has anyone used a speed camera to verify the maximum speed?

GPS Satellite Navigation system, eg TomTom. I'm sure you have them in SA. A satnav gives a pretty accurate speed measurement independent of any onboard vehicle system.
All the best,

Hi Ben
Thanks for the discription. Yes we do have such equipment here in SA. I was in our local telephone dept. offices yesterday and noticed that one could buy a Tom Tom navigator system from them.
Until next time keep well.
Best wishes

I guess more than fast enough to outrun the Auckland rush-hour traffic!

I never saw one entered at the Fielddays tractor drags!
Thanks Bro,

Thanks "kiwiland dexta" for your reply, forced to go over the wrong side of the Bombay hills tomorrow (not allowed to take the ute, have to drive the car!), if I get caught up in rush hour traffic I will see if the "Jafa's" go slower than the Super Dexta. Super dexta can't go as fast as the Hamilton traffic, there pretty quick out there!(Hamilton 400 coming up) Might try and get the local speed camera van on SH1 to see how fast the Super Dexta goes (30k+ ?)

My Dexta had slightly oversized rear tyres and once ran 42 kilometres/hour at 2400 rpm.

Oh yes. The Hamilton 400 is not far away.

I won't be there this year, but I'll be there next year.
Oscar. 42km/h is pretty good for a 50 year old tractor.

This really makes me smile

every time I see it. And might I add that it takes a lot to make a purest like me smile at something that is over modified...

The manual certainly offer a range of figures depending on the year and tyre size @ 2000 rpm, from 27.05 - 27.95kph. The "New" Super was rated at 2250rpm doing 31.44kph. I guess if you want to crank out a few more rpm, who knows!
You're in Hamilton? We had a few years in Oto. April... fog season starting.
Regards, Derek.

Kev, Trish was a cow vet there and I taught at Oto College from late 1995-2001. Lived at Te Raumauku on the farm of one Peter Scott. Probably have a few mutual friends
Cheers, Derek.

I went to Oto college myself, but left a few years before you got there. My last year was 1979, before heading off to Wanganui to do my apprenticeship. Wow, it seems such a long time ago.
Are you still teaching? My wife is a Vets nurse here on the Island, as well as being a fully qualified Equine Massage Therapist.
Boy I miss Kiwi.

Your last year at school same as mine, only I was in Gisborne on a farm.
