Double acting ram on Horndraulic loader

I have a Horndraulic loader with the normal single acting displacement cylinders (thanks to Brian's explanation I now understand what a displacement cylinder is!) .
Since I am actuating with a double acting spool valve I would like to change the cylinders to double acting ones however I wonder how wise this would be from the point of view of forces on the tractor ie the front of the tractor could be lifted up at the flange between the engine and clutch housing. Is this likely to overstress this joint at the top and cause problems later on?
Any views on this would be appreciated.
