Hi guys,

A friend of mine bought himself a 53 Ford Red Tiger. It has a little
damage on the hood and needs further restoration. He's working on it now.
He thinks the rod, between the steering-wheel and the steeringhouse, is a little short.
Perhaps it's replaced once after an accident (because of the damage on the hood)?

Does anybody knows the length of the bottom of the steering house to the top of the steering-wheel?
Where these especially made for the Red Tiger, or are they exchangable with other Ford models?

When he would bring all his tractors, it would be quite a row...I think he has 10 oldtimer tractors.

He's really a petrol guy with different petrol Ford/Fordson/Fergy's.
He is missing a petrol dexta though...

Is that the model NAA Golden Jubilee with the Red Tiger engine? If so, it uses the same steering gear parts as the 600 and 800 series.
I don't have one, so I can't measure the length of the steering column.

Thank you for your reply! It's a great help. It's indeed a Ford NAA Golden Jubilee tractor.

Does the Red Tiger has exactly the same steering colom, or just the same (internal) gear parts?
I guess where I can get these parts over here... these tractors are not common over here.

I misread your post, the first time, sorry.

The steering column shaft is a little longer on the 600 and 800 series than the NAA. The rest of the steering box parts are the same.

Are the American Fords, like the NAA, 600, 800, etc. very common in Great Britain and western Europe? My father had a 1954 NAA, which my brother now owns. Quite a tractor.

These tractors are quite rare in Western Europe. The English Fordsons are quite more popular over here.
I guess you don't have many English Fordson's over there?

Pascal, you're right, there are not many English Fordsons here in the USA. Occasionally you see some Majors or Dexta's still at work, or at antique shows. Most of the Fords here are of the American build.
On the subject, I bought a 1954 Ford NAA with a cab on it this past Sunday from a private party. Apparently, it has spent it's entire life so far pushing a front-mounted broom attachment for the city of St. Paul, Mn. USA. I just bought the tractor; it runs very well. Has been converted to 12 volt ignition.
The cab has a heater inside, and sliding doors. I plan to add some three point arms and a hitch, and use it for snow removal on my farm; also light field work, etc. I'll try to get a picture of it on here.

I've never seen an NAA with a cab. I'd like to see some pictures of it, too.
