First- refer to http://dogdiesel.20m.com/photo.html on picture that states 4WD unit.
I need the pad, or bands for brakes on the 4WD unit. My local CASE-Ford New Holland dealer looks at me like I have a third eye when I mention this 4WD unit. No help.
Understand there are quite a few of these conversions in the UK.
Its my own fault. I forget and leave the emergency brake applied, and the tractor has so much grunt, you don't notice. I have one or two more adjustments left.
Need one of two things:
-part number/dealer for brake replacement pads/bands.
-parts break down for 4WD unit

Can't help with the brakes Wayne, but I can tell you the name of the man who made those steel wheels on the County in your picture. He was called "Deafy" Patrick because he was totally deaf and he use to make all the steel wheels in our workshop. The rims were rolled by Crane Fruhauf just a few yards down the road at Dereham from where I used to work, the centres came from Sankey in Shropshire who made them for Ford. The spokes were made in house at Wrights and they were all assembled on a jig in the tractor workshop.
I think I put the first set of those on a County in early 1970. We were involved in the attempt by Donald Cambell on the World Landspeed Record on the salt flats in Australia and a County was going out to make the track. We made thousands of sets of those wheels over the years for the complete range of Ford, Massey and anyone else that wanted them.
The first set went on the County with no problem until you turned the steering wheel. Then the inner lugs contacted the drive shafts!! The County boys were not too pleased so the wheels had to be put on the other way round to give clearance, The ones that went to Australia for the speed attempt had extra wide rims and extra "spuds".
Thanks for the memory.

Wayne,
I can't help you with part numbers or suppliers either. However, I do have a suggestion. Brake pads and brake bands CAN have new linings bonded to them at some specialist places. Well they used to do it here in Aus but two things might have changed that. Firstly, the cheap imports from China etc are cheaper than reconditioned. The other reason is the health side of it. A mate of mine had a brake supplies business and used to recondition shoes and pads but breathing in asbestos dust over the years brought his life to an early end at 50. He used to bond new linings to brake bands for me when I serviced industrial electric vehicles.
Regards,
Rick

Just an add-on to my short Memory above. Fords were the only tractor company that would warranty their transmissions when the tractor was used on steels from new. All the other companys ran away fast when any problems came up under warranty.

Who has a 4000 4 x 4?
Ford 4000 4 wheel Drive
Whether you have the County version or other, who has one?
Or has owned one?
Of course, I am interested where you found 4WD emergency brake parts.
Wayne
BTW- Thanks for the replies!
My tractor fits my needs well. I use it for a loader, run a 3PH stump grinder with it, spear hay and pull a 25" GN trailer loaded with hay. Don't have a round baler yet, but will use this one when I buy a baler. Not good for mowing, too tall and since 4WD, turns are not as tight as needed for mowing. Use the Super Dexta for bush-hoging, mowing and sickle mowing. The 4000 4WD is a workhorse.

Found the INFO
Ironically, was bored the other night and I pulled up my PDF file for the 4000 Ford tractor, and the transfer gearbox is listed for all model fords, with internal kit changes per model. It was hidden right in the Ford 4000 tractor book.
The emergency brake is not a band, but a disk.
So I will take the part number information to my Ford (CNH) dealer and get a disk kit, a handle button and grip, or what is available still.

Emer Brake Parts available
You can tell this is one of my priorities - or really is not one of them.
Really not.
Nevertheless, I was at the Ford New Holland dealer today, picking up filters and a new tachometer and I check on the emergency brake parts.
First they swore and allowed there was no way I had a 68 4000 with 4WD. Because they were never made...
They had a computer there, so I took them to a website, and said "That's my tractor, and showed it in several angles and even with my loader on it. Damn... they said.
Regardless, they can get the new emergency brake disks, takes two of them, no problem. And I learn a few more bits of info on my tractor.

Seal
With brake disks removed, you can replace the drive seal that prevents hydraulic fluid which lubricates transfer from entering H/B disk area.
Dealer list seal C5NN2N602A, item 12 as replacement. This part fits shaft perfect, but external seal surface is too small diameter. Wrong part. Use BA 32 - 52- 10. requires removal of circlip internal lock ring (not shown in parts listing). The BA 32-52-10 is a rubber self sealing external seal. The purpose of the clip is seal alignment only.
Add 10 minutes to job. Jack tractor left side UP to prevent exess fluid drain. Brake cleaner is excellent to clean H/B are for re-install.

Ceramic disk Vs Fiberous
Ceramic disks hold better than Fiberous disk. Nice.
