4610 injector pump timing

Post by Gavin »

Well after 18 months of sitting in the field, my 4610 is back together and running.
The pump timing was set at 0 and it started up on a tow within 10ft as sweet as a nut. However, the idle speed was far too low - almost stalling so a quick adjustment of the linkage cured that and everything seems fine although I noticed after a 6 mile trip to take some haylage out to the fields the idle once again was too low. Is this due to incorrect timing or the engine settling down?

The timing will not change so I would suspect the pump is slightly sticky in the internal linkage. Keep running it and see if it frees off.

But am I correct setting it to 0 degree or should it be advanced or retarded?
