This topic may have been covered before but i am new here.
Has anyone had problems with the black, 22amp Dynamos with tacho drive widely advertised by parts factors and on the internet, failing to work straight out the box?
I bought one two+ years ago when the tractor was at an early stage of restoration and only now have got round to fitting it.
When i ran it up on the tractor it failed to extinguish the charge light. I have polarised the genny by flashing from live to field on the genny but only get 8.3 volts at 1400 r.p.m.
The voltage regulator is new, any clues or comments?

Hi,
Make sure that your dynamo and regulator are both 22amp, rember the 22amp dynamo has an open end and the 11amp is closed.
also having been stored is your dynamo brushes and armature clean, do you have good connections as wellas a good earth, and, is the belt adjusted properly and not slipping.
