Ford 4000 Wheel Size
Ford 4000 Wheel Size
Can anyone help with the size of wheels fitted on the front and back of a 1972 cabed UK model?. Also what size tyres were fitted.
I have just kept the build specs. unfortunately Kev but I can tell you from a later 1977 book that a standard 4600 with a "Q" cab would have cost you £6326.00 plus VAT and we would have given 12% discount for a straight deal.
By 1977 the price had been rising at around 20% every three months for a couple of years. The books they gave us as salesmen were no longer bound but had ring bound pages so they could be replaced as and when the prices went up. That is why I don't have the earlier prices.
I can tell you however that a 5000 in 1965, fully weighted with rear wheel weights and front weights would cost you £1029.00, a 4000, full spec. would cost you around £900 and a 7000 in 1972 was fully spec. £2472.00. We could not understand how farmers were going to afford these "expensive" tractors.
