As I told you in another topic our Ford 8000 tractor needed a complete engine overhaul.
I thought let's publish some pictures of the work that was carried out on the engine.

The cylinders were bored out to fit oversize pistons. We found out the wall thickness of the cylinders were very thin, so we decided to fit new liners so we could use standard size pistons.

New bearings and conrods ready for assembling.

New pistons and pins ready to receive new piston rings.

The pistons installed. Looking good!

Complete new timing gears, as the old ones were damaged due to broken teeth.

New valves, and springs with the skimmed head with new valve seats fitted.

Engine ready for it's first run after all the work. It runs like a clock. All the work and the fitment of a new oil pump resulted in a very healthy oil pressure.

A picture of most of the parts that were replaced.
Now the engine is back in the tractor again and we don't regret all the work that had to be done. The engine sounds much smoother and runs very calm. What a difference this makes.
Hope you like the pictures. I will sent some pictures of the completed tractor soon..
Greets,
Martijn
