hi not posted for a while hope everyones had a good xmas .could anyone tell me if the flywheel on a 1974 4000 engine is the same as a 68,69 3000 as unearhed an old 3000 with no engine.we have a 4000 engine and are going to merge the 2 if possible.thanks

Snowman, I see no reason why it shouldn't fit, but remember 3000's are normally Livedrive and the 4000's are independent PTO.But before you start, just check that the 4000's camshaft has the drive gear for the hydraulic pump. :eyes: TSG.(Its quite warm down here too,might need some :beer: !!!)

Different flywheel, you need a two stage clutch one for a 3000 transmission. The 3000 one will fit on the 4000 and all else should bolt straight up. As SG says check that the 4000 has a pump drive gear on the camshaft, some will have them but again a 3000 one will bolt straight on.

thanks for repling need a flywheel as well , checked camshaft and she has a pump drive gear so not so bad.will keep gathering bits thanks
