6X Gas

Post by Curt H. »

There is a 4000 Major(6X) tractor in my area with a four cylinder gas engine in it,were any built this way in england? I do know this tractor was brought over from England by an early collector.

I would doubt that any were built or used in England, we were all diesel at the time as the cost of petrol was very high in comparison.

I wonder if it has been fitted with a 5000 gas engine, the 4000 gas engine was a three cylinder one, 192 cu.in, 4.4 by 4.2. The 5000 engine was four cylinder 233 cu.in with a 4.2 by 4.2 stroke and bore same as the diesel.
