year of manufacture

Post by brownsmule »

Looked at a Ford 3000 yesterday. 8 H 29 serial # B 856657 2500 hours factory crate replacement engine no brakes
the clutch is either stuck to the flywheel or the pressure plate is bad
the decal for shift pattern is bad so I don't know if it is a 3 or 4 speed with L/H

question is: what year was it made

thanks

Looks like 1968 Aug 29th....

8 = 1968 , H = Aug , 29 = day of month ...

Here's a link that explains these pretty well ..

Or try this link. Copy of the original Ford date codes and positioning from the workshop manual.

http://www.fordsontractorpages.nl/wiki/ ... eries.html

Codes to get in are "fordsontractorpages" and "dotty".
Fordson Tractor Pages, now officially linked to: Fordson Tractor Club of Australia, Ford and Fordson Association and Blue Force.
