oil filter leak

any advice when replacing the oil filter on a 69 3000 to stop it leaking?

I take it that you still have the big cartridge filter on your tractor and not the spin on type. The big ones were always a pain to seal even when new, you would change the filter, start the tractor and run it for a little while, check it out and it would be fine. An hour later the customer would be on the phone raising the very devil because you left his tractor with a leaking filter.

Do not use grease to stick the flat sealing ring in position. Do not overtighten the retaining bolt. Check that the ring is the correct size and fits in the block so it does not move when you put the filter on.

Best possible advise, convert to a spin on filter, the adapter plates are still out there.

Thanks Brian,
I see agriline sell them but a bit reluctant to buy after the last lot of shoddy parts from them :x I will carry on searching
