Ford Backhoe Loader Model Help.

Post by Dandy Dave »

Helping a buddie with an old Ford Loader backhoe. Looking around the web I think it may be a 4000 It looks similar to that style/series but none of the numbers match up with the info that I have found. Stamped on the left side bell housing is 1400DS, Serial 42011. It is a Diesel tractor. Thanks, Dandy Dave!

Hi Dave.
I asked a couple of guys I know that used to work for the Ford dealership back in the day. They said the serial number didn't make any sense to them either. They thought that one of the numbers was missing.

Thanks for looking it up. I think maybe a 2 or a 4 is missing from the first digit. Not sure if Industrial Fords fell under a different number system? Serial number would make it a 1964 if it is a 4000. Dandy Dave!
