Hi Matt,

Seems to be quite a difficult quiz, considering the little answers.

Let me give ita try: a loader?
I'm not sure though, since most of the loader on Fordson tractors, are 4 cylinders (I think). The enigne on the picture looks like a 3 cylinder to me.
Best regards,
Pascal

Fordson's don't leak oil, they are just marking their territory.

Well I have been hesitant to have a guess at all. I understand Pascal's answer of Loader to be of the bucket style. I didn't think it was that type because of width and engine capacity. My 'guess' is that it is either a hydraulically adjusted "elevator" or "loading ramp". (An elevator getting product from ground to loft, stack or the like.) :scratchhead:

Rick

It isnt a loader on a tractor but it is based on a 3 cylinder ford tractor (4600), the actual engine is a pre force 4000 as it has been changed at one time,

Thanks for replying, Matt

Tough quiz, Matt. :D

A mobile crane seems a good idea, Kev.
But it seems the cab is placed next to the frame of the machine as a sort of contra-weight. So I think it might be a machine for cleaning ditches or mowing ditches.

Something like these http://www.herder.nl/

I was going to say that its a forklift, but now I can see that the hydraulic cylinders are in the wrong position. I don't have any idea what it is. Thanks for the puzzle.

I'd guess it to be either a three wheeler which has a grab in front to load logs or sugar cane. Similar to the Bell product manufactured here in SA.

Some of you were getting close by the end, actually it is a very early and possibly one of the first telehandlers. It is a Collins Teleporter which is based on a Ford 4000 or 4600
