Ford 5000 Gearbox/ engine

Good Moring all!

Just coming back to this forum some 10 years since I last posted!

Anyways, I have recently acquired a force 5000 project tractor. Intending on getting stuck into this early in the New Year. Engine is seized solid from what I can see but will do some digging- it's the original non reinforced block so would be nice to keep it if at all possible.

My question really relates to the gearbox- it's jammed solidly in 1st gear. I've tried rocking it with a pry bar on the selector but to no avail. Any tips or tricks to get this shifted or is it a dive into the box job?
