Hello, I have a 1947 Major TVO. My tractor has a different fuel tap than shown in the manual. It has the glass bowl but the taps that you turn are round and there are no "gland nuts" as in the manual. I can't stop the taps from leaking, the petrol one is worse than the TVO one but they are both leaking. Some spares suppliers list a new tap assembly but no one appears to have any stock. Happy to buy a S/H one as long as I can change the seals etc.
On another note would anyone have a carb or know where I could get mine refurbished. It looks like a previous owner used a hammer and chisel to fit the jets and float spindle etc.
Cheers,
Martyn

Can't really help you but here's a parts book showing your tap. https://www.fordsontractorpages.nl/ffcn ... _kroes.pdf Try new o-rings (part no. E27N-9176) first, otherwise I think histoparts or other similar suppliers might have a new one but as with so many new things the quality might not be suitable. As for the carb probably best to find one in a scrapy or similar.

Thanks, the replacement o-rings and a glass bowl gasket appear to have made a huge difference. Time will tell.
I don’t suppose you know anyone who sells the correct dark blue colour paint in an aerosol can? All the ones on eBay seem to be the lighter empire blue. As we had the tank off to seal the inside we have treated the light surface rust and would like to repaint it before we refit it.
Cheers,
Martyn

Unfortunately no, I'm not convinced spray cans will be an easy match, I prefer the traditional paint pot but that's just taste. I think there are pots of the right colour (or at least that's what they say they are). You might manage to get a can mixed but know little about that.

OK thanks, ordered a tin of paint and some brushes, have to do it the old fashioned way
Re: WANTED: TVO fuel tap (with glass bowl)
It should be much easier that way, as spraying can be owkward and difficult. Don't be too concerned about the finish, Ford just put it on for protection, with no attempt to make a very professional job of it.
