Oil pump for Dagenham D6

Post by Keijo »

I'm trying to find a new oil pump (or upper gear) for a 590E Dagenham 6 cylinder diesel engine.

It is a 510E-6050-E, serial number S484709.

The 4 cylinder version was used in the Fordson Major and the 4 and 6 cylinder were used in a lorry called the Thames Trader Mk2.

Part number for the oil pump: E1ADDN-6616
Part number for the upper gear: E1ADDN-6652

Seems I've tried just about everywhere. Can anyone help?

This is old but I believe it's important to clarify details. E1ADDN-6616 is the oil pump cover from October 60, before it was E1ADKN-6616, and E1ADKN-6616B from 1425097 to October 60. E1ADDN-6652 is the oil pump drive gear used from 1425097 to 1595058 only on diesel engines. From 1595058 to roughly 08B-752791 (can't find details) it was E1ADDN-6652B, from then on it was E1ADDN-6652C, this latest gear also requires shaft 528E-6609 (508E-6609B for 6 cyl, later modified to splined design and sold together with gear as 508E-6608). These diesel gears have never been available as spares except from Ebro, the ones that have been sre those for petrol engines: E1ADKN-6652 to 1595058, E1ADN-6652 to roughly 08B-752791 and 528E-6652 from then on, the only gear currently available. Complete pumps are E1ADKN-6600 to 1425097, E1ADKN-6600B from 1425097 to 1595058, E1ADN-6600 from 1595058 to roughly 08B-752791 and 528E-6600 from then on for 4 cylinder engines, and 508E-6600, 508E-6600B and 508E-6600C for 6 cylinder engines with similar cange dates. 6 cylinder pumps are longer, body, gears and shaft are different. The oil pickup is also different, the support still mounts to the centre main bearing cap, but it's further away. As if this is complicated enough, each pump is matched to an auxiliary shaft, E1ADKN-66607 for Mk1, E1ADKN-66607B from 1425097 to 1595058, E69-CP-9 from 1595058 to 1599502, E68-CP-9 from 1599502 to roughly 08B-752791 (E78-CP-9 for petrol governors), E94-CP-9 from roughly 08B-752791 to 08B-756398 (E93-CP-9 for petrol governors) and E92-CP-9 from then on (minimec). For service, E96-CP-9 was made available for use in engines before 1599502 with 528E-6652. Some lorries used a minimc before the new gears appeared, these use E90-CP-9, and Ebro have a slightly different shaft for a minimec, E91-CP-9, with the keys in line rather than at 10 degrees.
Your engine is early August 65.
