Hi

Just taken apart the gear from 1956 major and found the large nut that retains one of the primary gear has lost it thread as someone has tighter with a hammer & chisel, is anyone breaking a gearbox

Bit late sorry, but I bought one for under 10€ at the NH dealer a couple of months ago.

Had two boxes apart with both the nut being scrap. Found 2nd hand nut at a breaker which was more expensive then an new one,.......
