Ransomes Robin
James,
Great to see the plough in action!
Have you some close ups?
What were the hardest parts of the refurb?
All the best,
Ben

Ben,
I made up a cross shaft handle and welded it on, i replaced the shares, wings and rear landslide. I bought disc essemblies stalks and skimmer arms from westlake plough parts at peterborough.
i wire brushed the plough frame down and painted it with hammerite smooth blue which is very close to ransomes blue.
It ploughs very well and is so matched to the tractor i didnt wheel spin once and the ground was very hard to dig in to my old fergy plough would never of drawn in as easily and plough as well.
I have it set at 12inch furrows as the ground is heavy and on the narrow setting the furrows were on end and not pushing over enough.

all in it was around £270 ish but i traded my old fergy plough in for some of the price.
you can buy the coulters brand new and also the bearing it runs on all the parts are readily available if you give him the part numbers you need, he will have it or find it for you.
i didnt go with nife coulters in the end i just adjusted the disc assemblies further back to give the shares the lead this aids in drawing the plough in.
if you require any more pages from the manual i will be happy to help.

Robin Coulters
James,
I'm wondering how many types of coulters Robins can use?
Mine, shown below, differ from yours.
On mine the scimmer arms (if I had some!) attach behind the disc, whereas yours attach on the other side.
Do you know why the difference?

yours are original coulters mine are from a Ts59 i think,
They mount the same on both ploughs but the stalks are bigger. i went for practical instead of original. as i can slide the scimmers forward farther when ploughing grass and move them back for when i plough in heavy trash or muck.
