Last tuesday did the final 2010 cutting job in the orchard (1.3ha)
Bad job is always shredding the trash removed from the ditches.
This was removed from the ditch with a mowing bucket made by "de Herder'' .
This is really a job for first gear and sometimes the engine revd down from 1800 to 800 only way out of trouble is quickly lifting the mower,as the dexta has no live PTO . The normal grass which is very dense and floppy is cut in second gear.
Added a photo when cutting grass in July when grass is long but still able to do the job. Dexta engine has good torque.

These grills represent the best of two worlds.
But the truth is that I am so lazy that the one new grill still has to be
painted. The question is which one that is.
Votex quoted minimum HP =35 for this machine
For normal grasscutting with a grasslenght of approx 4to 6 inches the Dexta has enough power to drive 2nd gear. For shorter grass I drive 3rd gear.
Excessive growth needs 1st gear ,run engine at approx 1700 revs, no signs of overheating.
Had new liners fitted with Sparex pistons and rings. After a few working hours it started to produce blue smoke and later oil was running from the exhaust . After dismantling found bores and honing pattern perfect shape but number of piston rings not perfectly round i.e saw spots were they did not contact the cyl. wall.
Replaced the piston rings for a set of SIM expander rings and problem solved
