pierce ploughs

i've seen a pierce plough ?
2 f 12 " at the moment , semi / digger bodies ?
never seen one b4 , looks a tidy machine , any one any expience with them ??

the coulters look a bit ransomes to me , also the bodies look like a epic ??

the ends of the cross shaft have two holes ? for the lynch pins , to take wider cat two links ??
over all i like it but cant get a answer yet if it for sale .

could the second hole be for a stabaliser bar?

i agree that seems likely , dont it.
bad idea to plough with a stabalizer tho in my limited exprience .

You need a better picture Ben, it would help us comment.

The extra holes are possibly to aid penetration as in the later Ransomes ploughs.

When I first saw the picture of the point and share, I thought, Ransomes Epic, but the shape of the breast is definitely not Epic which has a more square end. Looking again at the share, point and shin, it looks like Ransomes parts have been made to fit, by the gaps all around them and how the shin sits up higher than the breast at the front. Might be another contender for "ASP of The Year". :D

ASP = All Spare Parts
Bitsa = ( I believe) Bit's of this, bit's of that

As Henk says, ASP = All Spare Parts. It was coined by my friend J-P from Finland, many years ago, to describe his Fordson Major which he rescued and was using on his small holding over there. It became a standing joke between us and has moved into my slang terms. :D
