Engine Crane for Dexta

I will need an engine crane to remove/install the engine in my Dexta. I gather that a complete engine with
- block + waterpump
- head
- injection pump
- flywheel
- clutch
weighs up to ~400kg. Can anyone suggest a suitable crane, eg half ton Clarke Strong Arm? What cranes are others using?

I would go for a larger crane, I have the Clarke "Long Reach Crane" code 020110145 it will give you greater scope. Bear in mind that the max'm load is at min'm reach.

The crane requires to be used on a smooth surface, as you will find it difficult to move when lifting the engine on a rough uneven surface.

i eather use a pump up pallet truck or our other tractor (nuffield 1060 with loader).

Thanks for the info. Front loaders have their uses!

Please confirm that this crane doesn't fold?
Fortunately I am working in a garage with concrete floor.

The crane which I mentioned does not fold, but it does have outriggers which can be extended or retracted. These give the crane greater stability when lifting heavy loads at max'm reach.
