my neighbor had to lift steps for a new stair. The heavy ones weigh about 100kg, so we decided to build a crane. Main part is a ramp to drive a excavator on a trailer. And the special clamp for the stone of course, that part you can rent.



My not so good hydraulics just lifted the empty crane. The main up and down was done with the hoist (never heard, the word comes from Google translate). We had to extend it with a second pallet to get over a little wall including some planks on the ground.

Next task will be bolts for the TPL on my motor lifter ...

Nice bit of improvisation Peter - did you have to put any extra weight on the front of the Tractor ?

Hoist is a good translation, (these days more used for a vehicle or engine lift perhaps) and that specific type I'd call a 'chain block' - (block comes from the rope pulleys used on sailing ships)

no extra weight was needed at the front. At the end of that ramp hung about 150kg: 100kg step, 18kg clamp tool, 25kg chain block.

And yes Henk, we did think about safety when creating this. The ramp was secured with wood left and right not to turn sideways. Between ramp and pallet was anti-slip material and the two vertical wooden bars under the ramp matched a rabbet in the ramp to stop it moving forward.

that's not for the poor. , but that is the way I want to go too. First I need a bigger tractor.
I'm actually expanding my garage

Just to set the record straight...... Frode doesn't park his tractor in the garage, he parks the garage over his tractor!

I saw it on ebay a couple of years ago at a very good price. Very handy moving poorly tractors and other awkward things
Doesn't take long to fit and doesn't use the 3pl so no strain or side movement.
