What is this brackets / pin fitted to rear link arm?

What is this brackets / pin fitted to rear link arm?

This is fitted to the RH lift arm ...and my uncle did tell be what it was for, but he has gone now...Pretty sure it WAS not a stabiliser attachment..but maybe

Think it may be for a steerage hoe for crops like sugar beet.
