I have a Ford 4000-four which is a little county, and am starting to look around for a plough for it..
Someone mentioned to me today a TS90 3 furrow? Although I've seen a 3 furrow ts59 which looked quite neat. I don't want the tractor to dwarf the plough though.
Thanks

Re: Which Ran some plough for a Ford 4000-four?
Presumably you want to do some work with it (not for show) so you will sooner or later need metal..
I would start by looking at bodies. Ransomes parts are not as widely available as they used to be, although many Dowdeswell bits are similar. SCN bodies suit our soil, so that's what I use on a Ransomes 300 plough. And if you have big stones, I prefer bar-points, the little spring on each bar helps to absorb some of the shock if you hit something.
That's about all I can say, I think the TS90 would be the younger plough so would probably be my choice of the two, just check that it's straight, and look underneath to check that it hasn't been run with worn-out metal on it!

So I've had a scout around on ebay, and come across a couple of ts-90 12 - 3 ploughs...what is the 12-3 representative of? Board width?

Yes, or to be exact, the furrow width, 12", and 3 furrows. A fine size for your tractor

Thank you sir! I shall keep an eye open for a decent ts90 from now on. Will try and get some photos of it all
