Post by shergar »

someone told me the other day you can use dishwasher cleaning tablets for flushing out the rad and cooling system , would this be OK or could this damage the engine? me thinks to use the proper stuff designed for the job. any of you guys ever heard of this?

Dish washer cleaner tablets disolve lime scale, lime scale is what builds up in the radiator so in theory they should work. I would think that they are far less powerful than the proper stuff though. You could also use vinegar, lemon juice and kettle descaler if you have a few weeks.

So when I see a tractor driving with soap around his nose, I know the owner is flushing the cooling system. :? .
Haven't seen one yet. :)
Kind regards, Henk
