I run a little still for my own use and it keeps me happy. A moderately priced bottle (1.14L) of rye here is $40. I can make that for about $6, including the patience to do so.

Heard on the radio yesterday morning that Jack and Jim are both coming out with white whiskeys early in the new year. Jack about $50 a litre, Jim about $22 a litre. That's U.S. funds of course. Here in the overtaxed Canadian north, we will expect to pay double that!
