. To keep things manageable, a number of volunteers play key roles on the site. In this announcement you can find out who they are and what you can expect from them.The Site Council
First, when it comes to decision making, determining where we're going with the site, reflecting on ideas and suggestions as well as moderation of the forum and site administration, we have the Fordson Tractor Pages Site Council. This team consists of (in alphabetical order):

The Expert Council
Second, we feel that there are a number of forum members who are really knowledgeable, and who have amply demonstrated the ability to contribute advice and information which is impeccable. They form the Fordson Tractor Pages Expert Council, which consists of (in alphabetical order):

Between them, almost every aspect of relevant knowledge is covered. You can recognize them by the following illustration:
What it's NOT
Membership of the Site Council and/or the Expert Council is not intended as an honorary title, nor as some kind of reward. We put these Councils into place so that we can provide better service to you, our members and visitors. We tried to keep the Councils as small as possible. For example, with the Site Council we tried to recruit people from various time zones, so there is always someone, somewhere, who is not asleep or at work. With the Expert Council, we tried to cover as much knowledge as possible between as few people as possible.
Ranks
When you join as a forum member, you automatically get the rank "Not Quite Blue Yet". After 50 posts, you get to be "True Blue". Members of the Site Counsil and/or the Expert Council have ranks identifying them as such. There is only one person with an individual rank, and that is Brian. While I perceive Brian as neither "grumpy" nor a "grandad", he has explicitly requested the rank of Grumpy Grandad
. It gives him the unimpeded right to stick his nose into anything he likes (or to ignore whatever he wishes to ignore), to grumble or to cheer on, to gently pat on the back or to offer a parental slap on the fingers. You get the idea

Last but not least We're doing this as a hobby, and we try to keep improving the site continuously. Some initiatives have worked quite well, such as the Wiki, whereas others have failed (such as the chatroom). As always, what you do with what you find on this website is entirely up to you and your own responsibility. Tractors are pretty dangerous machines and should be treated as such.
