Hi Guys,

Back from holiday, 2 weeks of 'peace and quiet' before the madness starts again on Monday.

Kath and I managed to go to the Isle of Wight Steam open day.
Great weather and an enjoyable day out.
We were told that every year, as part of the show, they make a new footpath in the field they use for parking.
Sure enough, as we arrived there one Major had scraped out the trench ready. The other was constantly crushing stone for the first to lay in the new trench.

Here is one tractor I have not seen before

There were not very many tractors there, here is the rest of the line up...

... with this 'long nosed' model at the end

Opposite them was a County, serving a couple of steam engines driving saw mills.

Finally, specially for Oscar.
Army engine, built in 1953, called the Royal Engineer and she gave us a wonderful ride.

How on earth did a Munktells end up on the Isle of Wright? The loader on the County looks impressive!TSG.

Hello Mike,

The Munktell is the father of the now know Valtra. At our museum this year theme is Bolinder Munktell.
You could check this site out, but you have to polish your Dutch a bit.

Look for the page museum (left) and than at the bottom theme 2009.
The Dutra is a rare but nice looking machine I think.
Nice pictures.

Thanks for the pictures, Mike. I hope you had I nice vacation.

The County with the log forks on it looks good. It looks like its probably a 1004. Most people think that my 1164 is a piece of logging equipment. I guess it could be.

That's only the second picture of a Dutra that I've ever seen. They look interesting. Can anyone tell me more about them?
