What would be the left side of a tractor according to old Henry

In the UK, in automotive terms we talk of the "nearside" and "offside".

As we drive on the left, the "nearside" is next to the kerb or the left, from the driving seat.

So the left side of the tractor is judged, as you sit on the seat, on your left side.

You could say, "the clutch side" but that would confuse anyone who has an E27N or F or N. All of these have the clutch on the right.

Hello everyone. Great ?. Here on an auto/truck I refer to driver side or passenger side because when buying parts there sometimes seems to be some confusion. On my power major since you are seated in the middle, as Brian stated, I refer to the clutch side as being the left side. Again thanks for getting my pictures on here, I hope to get some others on here later.

It doesn't matter which side of the road we drive on, from the driver's point of view when sat in the seat, left is left and right is right. Same with aircraft and boats - although then it's port and starboard.

Nearside is nearest the kerb (e.g. UK left), offside is to opposing traffic (e.g. Europe/US left.)

I think you are all right guy's.
We teach the kids at school sitting in the car your left hand is the left side of the car. So one can assume that's the same with tractors.
However sitting on the Major, the brake cable on the clutch side say's RH and on the brake side LH. That's why they send me the wrong cable.
The Sparex label on the bag say's right hand for the brake side.
Was Henry a bit confused?

So be ware when you order a new cable.

You're supposed to sit facing forwards, not backwards !

I was sitting forward, but maybe Henry was sitting backwards

It is only in the UK : Left is right and right is wrong. So when you drive left, you’r right.

Now Left is where the thumb is on the right side with your palms down. I know, the thumb on your right hand is also on the right side, but it is called left side, when you hold your hand with the palms down. Unless you are like me, 2 left hands, so I hardly do things right even tough I am right-handed
For ease of the younger among us, better to refer to your feet, but don’t put things upside down, because than it’s wrong.
