Hi
Where would this engine fit in the Ford family?
592E/271AC
3.9ins bore
4.5ins stroke
Rated at 62hp SAE @2250 rpm
It was fitted in a Weatherill L60.
Thanks Peter

Hi Peter,
I was hoping that StevenB or someone that knows more about this would reply.
I've learned a little about this from different places on the internet. I believe that a 592E was a model number of a Thames Trader. I'm guessing that the bore and stroke numbers that you gave were rounded. The bore and stroke of a Major engine is 3.9375 x 4.53125. I saw a picture of a 592E engine, and it looks identical to a Major engine. Since that engine turns 350 more RPM, that's probably where the extra horsepower comes from.
Hopefully, someone that knows more will reply.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I did round up the numbers and I believe the nos are the same or similar. The speed perhaps coupled with different injectors and pump (or settings)
