Restful Spring Day

Been out today for a walk in the countryside and a pub lunch with our friends Stephen and June. We went to the village of Walsingham, about 10 miles away towards the coast, to visit the 20 acre snowdrop woods. Here are a few pictures.

Image

The woods are in the grounds of an ancient priory. Walsingham was the center of pilgrimage for hundreds of years and its shrine at one time, was more important than the one at Canterbury.

The snowdrops and aconites certainly were a beautiful sight in the early Spring sunshine.

An ancient pack horse bridge over the river makes a great picture even if it is a little difficult to cross in the slippery conditions under foot.

A study of trees in the wood. Some of them are loaded with mistletoe and we saw a couple of beautiful "Bracket Fungi".

Then, cold but very happy, the four of us went to the local pub for a dinner of roast pork.

Tomorrow its back into the workshop and soldering and crimping another few hundreds of connections for a further batch of controls for potato planters!

Beautiful scenery and nice weather, too. It's a shame that Sunday always turns in to Monday :(

Your pictures certainly got me wishing it was the same here, but unfortunately for me there's still quite some snow on the ground here... Lovely forest and lovely weather Brian! :D

We still have some snow here also, It has warmed up the last few days and it is begining to melt though. 54 F right now. Thanks for sharing the photos. Someday I am going to visit England, and Ireland and see where the Fordsons were built. :) Dandy Dave!
