What does anyone know about a ---------- Kubota--------?

I have been offered one very cheaply but it has water in the sump and fills very quickly. I am told it is a common fault with these tractors.

If it is worth a look at I may sell the Petrol Dexta  !!!!! (Only joking).

Brian, normally Kubota's are quite good tractors, a bit like Toyota cars, effective, get the job done, but not exactly inspirational.Only major problem I can recall that we had here was the little 6 cylinder engines had a tendency to malfunction.(Kubota's over here are imported by the same company that imports CNH tractors, C.B. Norwood, so its not uncommon for a New Holland dealer to sell Kubota's as well, on the same site.)Cheers TSG.

If you decide to take a look, watch carefully, because if you need to buy spareparts,it will cost you deerly.

A friend of mine owned one,and it needed a cylinderhead.
Without valves and such the price was...brace yourself...

900 euros plus tax.

So he offered it very cheaply...

I've worked on a few over here and they seem to be a very reliable tractor. The ones that I have worked on have been medium and small tractors. I have never had to do an engine in one. Mostly just servicing them for the local organic farmers. I did put a clutch in a medium size one once with a loader. And a hydraulic pump on an old compact as it was leaking in to the engine oil. With water in the engine I would be weary. You never know if they could have put to much ether in it at one time. Dandy Dave!

brian you could be lucky my friend bought a kubota from the scrappys with a sump full of water and when he stripped the engine he found a popped core plug on the cylinder head between the water jacket and oil gallery and sorted it for the price of a core plug and a cylinder head gasket

That is the information I was looking for. It fills up very quickly but runs OK. Will keep you informed.
