hi folks seeing how most of us in GB are having snow and i am learning to post photos i thought i would post some of me combining with my 1996 clayson m133 combine what are your thoughts of these combines brian hope you can see them
I leave two spaces between picture or text, but you are getting there!
One of the best combines built! The only fault I ever found was the cutterbar. If it had had a Claas one fitted it would have been a better machine. The later ones did have a similar one to Claas.
With that combine, in laid crops, you have to use the reel in front of the cutterbar to lift the crop onto the bed. This can cause loss of ears in front of the combine, one of the highest areas of loss. On the Claas cutterbar, the lifters do the work and the reel only moves the crop from the lifters to the bed auger. Far less chance of loss.
I have seen the New Holland operating in short hanging barley with more ears on the floor than grain in the tank and a Claas in the same field clearing the ground.
But that is only my opinion. I was happy with either when demonstrating and have spent many happy hours combining rape with one.
