Dexter transmissions

Could you tell me if the 3 cylinder diesel and the 4cylinder petrol gearboxes can be exchange with each as i can purchse a whole petrol tractor for the gear box i need for my diesel the diesel gearbox I'd is 95GE 7005 t3 and the petrol gearbox number is 957E 7005 T4. Will this fit ok as the externals look the same .

Joe, to the best of my knowledge it should work, as puting the petrol engine into a Dexta was an afterthought by Ford :mrgreen: TSG.

Thanks for that feed back and your probably right, the "T3" and "T4" may relate to the 4 cyliner petrol and like wise for the 3 cylinder diesel.
Anyone have any thoughts on it?

Please do not wreck a Petrol Dexta !!!!!!!!! There were only 4000 eyer made :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: !!!!!!

The gearbox is the same on both and will fit, if you have an early diesel you may find that the gear ratios are different and the clutch housing behind the starter looks different.

What ever you do, send me all the numbers from the petrol one please

Will send you the numbers, i'm just borrowing the the gear box will leave the rest in tact till i come across another gearbox then the petrol one will be resurrected
