Yesterday we had snow showeres but although it was nasty driving, it did not lay. Thismorning everywhere is covered with a light sprinkling which has frozen. Must be at least 13mm deep! Norfolk will have ground to a standstill!!

Congratulations. You're half way to having a White Christmas.
Parts of New South Wales in Australia had heavy snow today also(according to the TV anyway) They reckon it was a heavier fall than winter. Whats the weather coming too.

Winter kicked in here, too. Lots of ice on the roads here, 9 people dead in 3 days due to the weather. Snow expected today.
But hey, it is winter here on the Northern Hemisphere. But to hear that snow is falling in NSW, now that is unexpected.

Is this Christmassy enough Kev?
Cottoneaster Tree.
Ornimental Hawthorne.
But even in the depth of winter some flowers remind us that spring will return eventually. Winter Jasmin.
And the Witch Hazel (Hamamelis) has fat buds too! This is beautifully scented in the late winter.

Hey Oscar,
You'd better believe it. Kev was spot on. 36 deg C last week, Zero overnight last two nights. Haven't had need for a fire for about 6 weeks; we are only a week away from our summer; yet we had snow showers here! Over two days we had lots of small hail, (we call either sago or smail) and 70 mm of rain over 4 days. Canberra, just to the south of me had 50mm of snow on the ranges about the city and there was 200mm (8") of snow on the ski fields!
It is very unusual, but it is known that this district once had snow on Christmas Day back in the '70's.
Meanwhile, where I'm supposed to be moving to in Ontario, my wife is being reminded what it is like to live and work with the snow. They have had 3 feet of snow in the past week. Their local Ski Resorts have opened early. The first time since 1972. She has 50 km to drive to work in the snow.
Thanks for the pictures Brian.
Regards,
Rick

Nice pictures for a Christmas card Brian,
Snow is falling right now over here. Traffic is going very slow on the highway and the kids are enjoying themselves.

Nice pictures, Brian. We haven't had any snow here yet, and I hope it stays that way! I used to love snow when I was a kid, but after fixing logging and snowplowing equipment for many winters, I don't like it much any more.

Hi All,
Woke up this morning to a 4 inch covering of snow, luckily the grandkids were staying over so took them out for some sledging and snowman building. It was the first time the youngest had encountered snow and he was a bit confused by it all. Anyway they had a great time, and so did I.

Lots of snow here last night. It's not staying though. I got up at 5AM to beat traffic and most of it had melted already. More is expected today though!
My kids also spent almost all of yesterday in the snow

Hi guys,
It has snowed twice in the last week, what we call "a sciff" of snow fell a few nights ago. Here it is raining as we speak. We need the rain badly we have been in a drought for months.
Nice pictures Brian.

The snow has continuing the last few days, and today I digged my old snowmachine from the snow to get it on a spin while the Roadless get some rest.

The battery in the camera was not in a good charge so this is short.
