Christmas

Post by Brian »

Christmas is here again and we are looking forward to another New Year :buddies: The run up to the Festive Season has been a bit different for Ann and I this time as, back on December 5th we were singing carols in Warracknabeal with many locals, accompanied by the town silver band whilst waiting for it to become dark enough for the tree to be lit up. The temperature was 32 degrees C! Not a normal occasion for an English couple! Not a normal tree either, it was a frame over the sculpture of sheep on a roundabout in the center of the town which was covered with fireworks. Luckily the town fire brigade was in attendance as the fireworks set fire to the plants growing in the roundabout garden!

On our last day in Australia we visited a shopping mall down by the docks. This felt more normal for as we ate our icecreams in brilliant sunshine IT STARTED TO SNOW! :yikes: AT 35 DEGREES C!!!

Anyway, what ever part of the world you are in as you read this, whatever the temperature and however you celebrate the Season.

Have a great and Peaceful Christmas.

From Brian and Ann

Belated Christmas greetings and all the very best health, wealth, luck and restoration for the New Year

My Laptop died from motherboard failure just before Xmas :curse: so this is on a borrowed box, having just (hopefully) ordered sufficient bits from ebay to perform a resurrection :scratchhead:

Look forward to being back with you all as soon as the carriers get round to delivering and I get round to rebuilding...
Best regards

My Brother always said to get a Retired Submarine and bury it in the sand. If a hurricane comes, just close the hatch and stay inside. This morning it is 19F or -8C here. Dandy Dave!

Is this what you mean Dave? :D

Found these as we passed through Holbrooke NSW many miles from the sea. The townspeople renamed the town after Captain Holbrooke who took his submarine through the Dardanelles and sunk a Turkish battleship during WW1. We awarded him a VC but these people named a town after him and bough an old Australian Navy submarine and mouted it in the centre of town!

That will do. Just be sure there are enough supplies to last a while. A full bar, cigars, and some dancing girls (Bikinis optional.) Will do. Dandy Dave!
