Volvo F724

Post by Ripple »

Recently I bought a Volvo F7

Got it fairly cheap, Runs well

However it has had some home wiring done in the past and now i am unsure as to what most of the switches do :?
Hoping you guys might be able to give me a few hints (Judging from the location of the switches). I have given them all a flick at some point however most of them don't really seem to do much at all, i can hear the relay flick over on a few.

Ive put question marks on the ones im not sure about

Picture 1
Large Black Handle - splitter?
Spot Lights? (dont work)
"on / off toggle switch" - ?
House Switch - ?
Orange Switch - ?

Picture 2

I would suggest getting a factory Wiring diagram, or diagrams on a lot of new stuff. The amount of Wiring is maddening on modern stuff. Then start chasing the color codes to see what they go to. A Test Light and Multi Meter will be very helpful. Dandy Dave!

Hi,

Where are you from? Down under I think?

Photo 1:
handle is splitter
orange one should be diff lock or fog lights
The house switch may be a replacement for the horn switch to go from the standard one to the roof mounted ones.

picture 2
One for stopping, other one for throttle control

picture 3
on ours was high beam on a lever below the steering wheel. the green one usually is for lighting. I remember another green one for ligthing in the loading area.

picture 4
no idea. Ours started on the ignition key.

Maybe you can get more infos here: http://www.oldaussievolvos.com/

please post more pics.

Any guesses what the stalk on the right hand side of the steering wheel does? (it seems to let air out somewhere)
