Another trip

We have just booked the boat and hotel for another trip to Holland in April and we will be there over the Easter weekend. We are bringing over with us our oldest friends.

June and Stephen who have been my best friends for 40 years. The sort of friends that when trouble occurs, they are the first to be there for you. They also have the honor of being the parents of my god-daughter and her lovely sister.

We are coming over to Franeker (things are getting worrying when you ring the hotel there and they recognise your voice) and will be traveling on the night of the 18th of April to the Hook and up to Amsterdam on the 19th.

We intend to visit the Van Gogh museum and others that you might recommend chaps, before traveling to our hotel over the bridge. Our trip will also include visits to the islands and Gitehorn and of course another visit to the museum of Yopi Husseman, the artist.

And of course, a visit to the Keukenhof on the Monday 20th as we make our way back to the Hook.

We are going the other way round this time and will be going down to our usual Golden Tulip, near Henk when we come back in September for Meddo and, who knows, but Dotty might make the trip as well.

If anyone is in the area and we can arrange to meet whilst we are there please get in touch

Sorry about the Dutch spelling mistakes but I will put them right later.

Brian,
Any tractors accompanying you? I reckon UK tractor prices (£) are down nearly 50% in the last 6 months. Maybe UK ones are looking cheap now with the £=Euro!?
All the best,
Ben

I only bring them back to England Ben. That is, unless Oscar wants that FW60 to park on the passing place on his street. :D

Would be nice meeting you again Brian, you know Ann and you are always welcome.
Maybe a visit at the windmills of Kinderdijk would be nice for your friends.

Brian and Ann,

Just read in the news papers that they started to strengthen the sea defence. Starting at the Golden Tullip towards Vlissingen. In the future the dunes will be right next to the hotel. At some place they will come about 80 meters in land. So in September there will be tractors and lorries, hydraulic cranes and that sort of things. The owner say's in the paper there will be a lot to see for the guest during that period. Also there will be a info centre at the hotel about the new coast defence and the updating of the aria.

Hi Brian,

Are you coming to Amsterdam this weekend (Eastern) of next weekend?
In the first post of this thread I thought I read you were coming to Amsterdam at April 19th.
But in the thread of the ploughing comtest, I thought I read you are coming next Sunday (April 12th).

Pascal,
Sorry you won't be able to make it. We had to change the dates becase Ann marks for the national school testing authority and the later date clashed with training for that. I was having problems with hackers so did not get all the messages and suchlike on the site so its not your fault at all.

Looking forward to Meddo. Ann is getting worried though. We may be bringing Henk a plough on a trailer and as it will be empty on the way back, she is worried that the Guldner might find its wy onto it.

Hello Brian and Ann,

We hope you have a nice stay here in Holland again. The wheather is promising, but you might get a drop of rain incidentally.

Don't worry about an empty trailer on your way home. You can eventually take on of our Dexta's "back home" or we can try to find a nice Lemken plough to travel to the UK.

Have a nice trip.

Best regards

Emiel and family

Isn't the Guldner in England not something like cursing in the church? :P

Hi Brian,

Thank you for your posting. My plan was to surprise you and Ann to show up with my SuperMajor in front of the museum today. :D
From my house it;s only a 5 mile drive.
But unfortunately I seem to have some cooling problems (see other posting). :(

I can imagine Ann's fear. :) Maybe she will be OK, if you will put some boxes of the famous Dutch mayonaise on the trailer too? :D

Wouldn't that be something Pascal,

Driving around in the middle of Amsterdam on your Super.
I know there used to the strangest thing but seeing a tractor drive by

To bad about your cooling problems. :(
